DROP-OFF GUIDELINES & CURRENT NEEDS
Every item at 611 started with someone deciding to share it.
To help us care for the space and the people who use it, donations are accepted during designated drop-off hours only. Our hours change each month, so please check the Calendar before stopping by.
611 is a highly curated, boutique-style Free Store. We focus on keeping useful, beautiful things in circulation and making them available to the next person who can use them.
We're always happy to receive:
Clothing in excellent condition
Purses, bags, backpacks, and jewelry (always high need)
Household essentials and small home goods
Kitchenware and dishes
Bedding and linens in great condition
Toys, games, and puzzles
Art and craft supplies
Unused toiletries and hygiene products. Please see the essentials list below.
Unopened food and pantry items. Please see the list below.
Seasonal and mutual aid essentials
A good rule of thumb: If one person can comfortably carry it through our front door and you'd happily pass it along to a friend, it's probably a great fit for 611.
Please don't bring:
Large furniture
Stained, dirty, or damaged items
Broken electronics
Expired products
Heavily worn goods
Items missing pieces
Anything that needs repair or cleaning before someone else can use it
A Quick Reminder
Please don't leave donations outside the building.
We know it's often meant to be helpful, but unattended donations create a safety hazard, and may be damaged by weather before volunteers are able to bring them inside. The best way to help is to drop off your donations during our scheduled drop-off hours.
Thoughtful donations help us make the best use of our volunteers' time and keep the Free Store welcoming, organized, and ready for the next person.
Before you donate, take a quick look at our Current Needs page to see what we're especially looking for right now.

Common Table: Rice
611 SOCIAL: THE COMMON TABLE
Fridays
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Theme: RICE
The Common Table is a shared dinner series centered around pantry staples, food access, and the meals that bring people together.
Each gathering focuses on a common ingredient and everyone is invited to bring a dish inspired by the evening's theme. Homemade, store-bought, traditional, improvised, or takeout are all welcome. There is no expectation to cook from scratch.
Check socials and calendar for the monthly theme. There are no presentations or programming. Just shared food, conversation, and a table full of people.
Suggested contribution: $20 per person.
The Common Table is a fundraiser that helps sustain 611's free store, essentials distribution, and community programming. If you're able, we hope you'll consider contributing. If cost is a barrier, we still want you at the table.
Guests are also encouraged to bring one unopened high-need essential item for the 611 Free Store.
At the end of the evening, any remaining food will be shared through the Evanston Community Fridges.
Ages 21+
Please note: 611 is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
