611 began with a simple idea: what we already have can help meet real needs when it's shared.
What started as a grassroots Free Store has grown into a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving approximately 90 families each month through free access to clothing, household goods, everyday essentials, and food in partnership with Evanston Community Fridges.
The Free Store is just the beginning.
As 611 Collective grows, we're building a lasting organization where resources stay in circulation, people find meaningful ways to show up, and new opportunities continue to grow from a strong foundation.
