611 is growing, and we're looking for people who want to help shape what's next.
611 is still new. There's a lot happening, people are paying attention, and there's a lot more we want to do.
We're putting together a volunteer 611 Leadership Team for people who are excited about 611, have something to bring to the table and want to be part of building what comes next.
This isn't about filling a bunch of volunteer slots. It's about bringing together people who see possibilities, have ideas and want to help turn them into something real.
There's a lot to build. We'd like some more friends in the room.
WHAT YOU COULD HELP BUILD:
FUNDRAISING & DEVELOPMENT
Help grow 611's existing fundraising efforts, develop new campaigns and funding opportunities, and find new ways for people to support 611 financially.
GRANTS & GRANT WRITING
Research funding opportunities, identify grants that fit 611, develop a strong grant pipeline and write compelling applications.
FOOD & ESSENTIALS RESOURCING
Think creatively about sourcing food and everyday essentials. Find new possibilities, build relationships and look beyond traditional sources.
CONTENT, MARKETING & PUBLICITY
Help more people discover 611. Create content, develop campaigns, pursue media and promotional opportunities, and find new ways to tell the 611 story.
EVENTS & PROGRAMMING
Come up with things people actually want to be part of. Develop events and programs that fit 611, create new ways to participate, bring people in and help move the work forward.
PARTNERSHIPS & ENGAGEMENT
Build relationships with people, organizations and businesses that can bring new people, resources, ideas and opportunities to 611.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
611 is still at the beginning, and there's a lot of room to build. We're looking for people who are excited about 611 and want to help shape what comes next.
You might already have an idea you'd love to bring to 611. You might see something we're doing and think it could become something more. We're looking for people who get excited about those possibilities and want to build on them.
People who are curious, take initiative, figure things out and follow through. People who enjoy turning an idea into something real.
You don't need nonprofit experience or to fit neatly into one particular role. Bring your skills, experience, connections, perspective and ideas. We'll give you the 611 context to build from.
Most importantly, you like what 611 is doing and want to be part of where it's going.
You'll need to be comfortable with email, text and online platforms.
LEARNING 611
611 approaches mutual aid, participation and communication a little differently than many organizations. Some of the ideas and language you'll encounter may be new, and you'll have a chance to get to know them as you get involved.
We'll share our mission and editorial style guide to help you get a feel for what makes 611 611 and how we talk about the work. You'll have that context whether you're writing a grant, creating a social post, reaching out to a potential partner or bringing a new idea to the table.
